Hooray For Earth at Sugar City, Wednesday

Hooray For Earth

Wednesday, August 20

By all accounts, Brooklyn via Boston indie-pop band Hooray For Earth dodged the sophomore slump. With the ring of a grouchy sounding fuzzed-out guitar chord we enter Racy, Hooray For Earth’s second full length record in nine years. Following 2011’s True Loves , the band’s frontman and multi instrumentalist Noel Heroux once again leads listeners through a synth laden landscape of flying, overdriven guitar riffs and reverberated vocals on songs like “Keys” and “Say Enough.” The music could work in an arena but the band will bring their overblown indie rock style to Sugar City this Wednesday (Aug 20) for the venue’s first major showcase since opening only last weekend.
