Chae Hawk “Dinner Plates” Painting Goes Missing

A painting of Buffalo rapper Chae Hawk by local artist Sarah Myers has gone missing. A few weeks ago Chae Hawk premiered a new music video for his single “Dinner Plates” at the Ujima Theater on Elmwood. The single is part of a series of videos including “Remember This Night feat Grabbitz” and “Chin Ups feat Keith Buckley”  from Hawk’s latest album Dance Party for the Heavy Hearted. As part of the screening Hawk played the videos, culminating in the first ever viewing of “Dinner Plates,” shot by directer Alex Amoling. The video features a painting of Hawk, painted by local visual artist Sarah Myers. Following the screening attendees moved to the back room of the Ujima Theater to drink and enjoy some music by DJ Fenbred. It was a nice night. Then Myers’ painting, which Hawk has appraised as worth around $2,400, went missing. Some time after the show, Hawk returned to the Ujima Theater to pick up the painting, only to find that it had disappeared. Now Hawk and Myers want the painting back. If anyone has any information on the painting (pictured) tweet to the following hashtag: #dinnerplatesDPFTHH.
