New Year’s Eve at Nietzsche’s

Tuesday, December 31

580642_458575130868273_580151754_nWith Thanksgiving coming so late in November this year, the holiday season has flown by for most. New Year’s Eve is right around the corner and before it sneaks up, you should know that there’s an evening already planned with some of Western New York’s best bands under one roof. Nietzsche’s is the place to be well before the clock strikes twelve as four talented local acts will be supplying a heavy dose of funk to ring in the New Year. Opening the Night is Family Funktion and the Sitar Jams follow by Logo City. Next up is Jamestown’s Smackdab whose heavy grooving funk will have everyone dancing well before the ball drops. The band played the Night Lights Fall Music Festival this year and easily had one of the best performances of the weekend. Their live show is where they excel as their high energy and tasty licks are intoxicating. Smackdab’s second album was released this past summer and has already received its fair share of great reviews. Headlining the night though is Buffalo’s own Funktional Flow. After a summer that really saw the band pushing their reach outside of the area, these boys are primed to start making moves in 2014. Their new album is currently being recorded and will be eagerly awaited. Smackdab and Funktional Flow are two soon-to-be Buffalove Music Festival veterans and will tag team the night with an endless amount of funk for everyone to get down to. For what you’re getting, there just isn’t a batter place to be. —jeremiah shea
