716: Friction Goes Hip Hop

Friction Goes Hip Hop

Saturday, May 12

The Queen City Cartel’s monthly Friction dance party at DBGBs is getting a makeover this month. This Saturday (May 12) will be the first all hip hop Friction party, led by mixer-rapper Billy Drease Williams of Deep Thinka Records. As far as Buffalo hip hop goes DTR is leading the pack and Williams is their star. If you’re looking to get familiar with Williams, check out his video for “Just Doin’ It” below. Though the video is a couple of years old now, it’s encouraging to see a hip hop act from Buffalo with nearly half a million plays on a track. Williams will be joined by DJ Cutler, Kinda Like Dreamin’, DJ Sandpaper, and Natural Ingredients at DBGBs this weekend. Talk about it @QueenCityCartel @deepthinka #friction.

10pm. Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar, 253 Allen St. (240-9359/dukesbohemiangrovebar.com). 21+.
