Top 10 Rock Tracks of 2010

Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips by Ben Gardner

James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem by Ben Gardner

Andrew Whiteman of Broken Social Scene by Ben Gardner

Rock! For the sake of lack of material on my part “rock” includes indie rock, electro rock, alternative rock etc. but mark my words the 20-teens will give us a resurgence of grunge. Next year will mark the 20th anniversary of Nirvana’s Nevermind, which officially replaced Michael Jackson’s Dangerous as the Billboard number 1 album of 1992. Ten by Pearl Jam was also released in 1991 and Pablo Honey and Radiohead’s single “Creep” crept up in 1993. … Comparatively the late 200o’s saw the revival and influence of new wave and dance/rock/pop like the Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, and Michael Jackson with bands like Hot Chip, Passion Pit, MGMT, and most recently Twin Shadow breathing life into the genre. Someone will make a pretty good movie about Kurt Cobain, some popular 1990’s grunge band will reunite (uh, Soundgarden kind of already failed at this) and eyebrow piercings, cut off jean shorts, and beat up guitars will see a massive renaissance. Stay tuned for my electro-grunge band Mother Dog. With that in mind, here is my list of top 10 tock tracks of 2010.
