A decade ago, before dub-step and before grime, there were two DJ’s from Buffalo, DJ Zuk and DJ Rhythmic. They were known as Deep Soul Plug. Their territory was the lower west side, at a bar called Rendevous, where every Sunday night the clubbers, hippies, breakdancers and house heads would come together to lose themselves in the rhythm created on the hot dance floor. After nearly a decade in hiatus Deep Soul Plug is back for a one time only reunion this Sunday (June 20), but this time it is on the patio of Encore. Deep Soul Plug was about the organic, the deep and soulful rhythm derived from world and jazz music. They created pounding beats that could have come from an 808 or an ancient tribal gathering. Their music represents Buffalo’s DJ culture at the turn of the millennium. As always, the party is FREE.
