You’re forgiven if you just asked yourself “Why does this Saturn Vue have a Chevy grille?” It is a Chevy. A 2012 Chevy Captiva Sport, a five-passenger crossover which is presently available in the U.S. only to fleet buyers. It’s made in Mexico and it seems its sole purpose in the U.S. market is to allow Chevrolet to sell more of its very popular Equinox at retail. The strategy will help Equinox sales in the short run, as more are available for Jane and Joe Buyer; but in the long run one has to wonder how Equinox sales will hold up as one- and two-year-old Captivas hit the used car market. You won’t find any info on the Captiva Sport at chevy.com but you will at gmfleet.com.
