The Lizzard Ball – the activist party that is an alternative fixture in Buffalo since it started in the ‘70’s – will be on Friday, April 24, 7pm, at the Foundry, 298 Northampton. It winds up the April campaign of Peace On-and-with-the Earth Month (POEM), sponsored by the Peace Education Fund.

Complete with anniversary celebrating and send-offs, the event’s musical line-up includes

· My-Rap-Name-Is-Alex , debuting his new dvd, as well as Alex and Sophia (Meade and Roberts respectively) who will be celebrating their five-year anniversary;
· Carolyn Zimmerman, aka the Drum Lady/Drum4Health;
· Kilissa Cissoko – and the Lizzard Ball Improv Band.
Entertainment also includes – [add your name here ;-] as audience participation is highly encouraged, particularly drumming, dancing, and daring. Communal music is vital.
Musical revelry will be buttressed by Ethiopian finger food from Lucy’s Ethiopian Cuisine – while supplies last – and a basket raffle for surprising gifts and fun. Co-sponsoring organizations, including the Foundry, Campaign Nonviolence, IWI/ Indigenous Women’s Initiative, the Interfaith Peace Network, Riverside-Salem UCC/DC, the Sr. Karen Klimczak Center for Nonviolence, the WNY Peace Center, and others, will be part of the festivities.

The party will also be a send-off for MaryAnne Coyle, who is going to the UN Nuclear NonProliferation Talks and beyond, as she moves on to different things!

All are welcome – admission price is “set” at what the individual can afford. For more info, please go to or find us on Facebook at Lizzard Ball 2015 – Give Peace a Dance! Also see this Indiegogo Campaign to raise money for local peace efforts – Donations will be matched 2:1.
