YAK Car Pic of the Day

A day like today deserves a pic from a warmer day  — like this 1964 Studebaker Cruiser four-door sedan. Katie and I found it a couple of springs ago at the CTC Auto Ranch just outside of Ft. Worth, Texas. Model year 1964 would be the first stanza of Studebaker’s swan song — the final year they produced a full line of cars: Challenger, Commander, Cruiser, Daytona, sliding-roof Wagonaire station wagon, and the sporty Gran Turismo Hawk and Avanti. In ’65 the line was pared down to Commanders and Cruisers; and after the ’66s there was nothing but silence on the assembly line. See the 1964 full line brochure here.
