YAK Car Pic of the Day

The designers of this 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix hardtop, which is parked in front of a repair shop in Woodlawn, hearkened back to to old Duesenberg luxury cars of the 1930s with their long hoods and short rear decks. Short, of course, being a relative term, as neither the GP nor the Duesenberg were small cars. The Grand Prix re-introduced the personal luxury genre with its ground-breaking 1969 model, and this ’77 was the last year for that body style before the great GM mid-size car downsizing of 1978. If you want to own a piece of history, I believe this one is for sale.
