YAK Car Pic of the Day

This 1966 Ford Thunderbird Landau marks the first year that the ‘Bird went totally formal and did away with the rear quarter windows. Was it a styling statement, or a money-saving move? You decide. They reappeared the following year, only to disappear again for the 1969 model year. It was musical chairs for a while with those windows; I like to imagine big arguments around the designers’ table with a lot of “Am not’s” and “Are too’s” being tossed about. This blue one was seen last summer in Niagara Falls.
