YAK Car Pic of the Day

Any time I get cold, I can always open up the folder titled CTC Auto Ranch and warm up. Down near Ft. Worth, Texas it is, and I visited there a couple of years ago. Yesterday I checked their web page, and this Rover 2000 (they don’t list the year) is still there and available for sale. Judging from the stuff we saw on the roads around the Lone Star State, I’d venture a guess that this is the only Rover down there. Produced by British Leyland from 1963-77, the 2000 was equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine; later models were called 2200 (2.2L) and 3500 (which came with a Buick aluminum V-8 engine of 3.5L). Rover began imports to North America in 1966 with the introduction of the 2000 TC (twin carburetors); sales were slow, and the more powerful 3500 didn’t do much better, so they gave up on the market in 1971.
