YAK Car Pic of the Day

Channel surfing one evening last week I came across a rerun of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. You know you were a child of the ’60s if you know that U.N.C.L.E. stood for United Network Command for Law and Enforcement. A spy show right out of the pages of James Bond. Sort of. And this 1966 AMT Piranha was actually featured on the show more than once. You’re also a child of the ’60s if you think that the AMT in the name might refer to the model car manufacturer, and you’d be right. Designed by customizer Gene Winfield, the Piranha was a model car brought to life. And AMT, which is still in business, announced last month that they’ll be re-issuing the Piranha kit in the first quarter of 2015. Sign me up for one!
