YAK Car Pic of the Day

Of the many nameplates that are missed since the brand’s demise after the 2004 model year, the Oldsmobile Achieva compact probably isn’t one of them. Produced from 1992-98, it shared a body shell with the Pontiac Grand Am and the Buick Skylark. If you don’t recall the Achieva, perhaps it’s due to the proliferation of Olds compacts through the years. It’s difficult to cultivate owner loyalty when you cancel the model after a few short years (F-85, Omega, Starfire, Firenza, Calais, Achieva, Alero…). This Bright Green Metallic sedan was seen over the summer in Youngstown. An attractive coupe (below) was also available, which to my eye had better lines.
