YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

Just about all of the 1990s tacky car cliches can be found on this 1992 Chrysler New Yorker Salon: fake wire wheel covers, half-padded (or landau) roof, opera windows, Rolls-Royce-like grille, tufted upholstery… this one even has a bit of the overdone side trim dangling, like any 1990s car should. Far from the opulent full-sized New Yorkers from bygone days, this one was based on — what else? — the K-Car, and although it was probably pretty comfy (maybe still is) it was hardly competition for the bigger Cadillacs and Lincolns. This red one, which, judging from the Liberty plates hasn’t seen much road time lately, was seen during the summer in Tonawanda.
