Things Worse than #LatteSalute

Eliminationist radio station WBEN spent an entire day Wednesday lamenting / concern-trolling the President’s apparently impeachable offense of saluting Marines with a coffee cup in his hand.  Of course, because he’s Obama, it was a latte. But while Tim Wenger’s obsession du jour was n0bummer’s epic disrespect of every troop and all troops everywhere, what sort of thing has WBEN (and the rest of the local media, for that matter), completely ignored?

How about a former WBEN employee and current sponsor raising money off the severed heads of Americans slaughtered by ISIS? This isn’t the semi-informed lunatic ramblings of some online crank listener – this is an endorsed Republican candidate for Congress. Not once did anyone on WBEN spend a nanosecond condemning this.

Or how about WBEN’s afternoon drive time shock jock dreaming – literally – of a military coup in Washington, and his idiot commenters trying to out-do each other with eliminationist wet dreams. (Helpful hint: the page is publicly viewable, so don’t whine to me about not blocking the names out.

That’s some station Tim Wenger has molded into his own image. So, while it’s a daylong horror for Obama – a civilian – to salute Marines whilst holding a coffee cup, it’s perfectly ok to make political hay off American martyrs and to openly advocate for and dream of sedition, treason, and a coup d’etat. Clear?

  • hwhamlin

Yeah, the Holocaust and 9/11 were worse than the latte salute.
So what? That doesn’t make Barry any less disrespectful of two Marines who have freely sworn to take a bullet for him.

    • #LatteSalute received almost as much coverage on WBEN as these two events.

      • hwhamlin

Gonna have to fact check that statement on Snopes.

      • John Pfeffer

most of snopes is true, you probably won’t believe it.

    • ckg1

Well, where was your outrage when W did the salute while at the same time holding his dog? Or does your outrage only exist for Democrats?

      • Russ Andolina

Well you see it was a dog and dogs are cute and fun and not from Africa so that was OK.

    • John Wilcox

Guess what? The President doesn’t actually HAVE TO return the salute.

      • UncleBluck

Exactly! Mr Hamlin would know that had he actually served…..

  • Scott Whitmire

Very strange-did my comment get deleted?

  • jerkwagon420

two “independence” day’s a year. There’s your Bauerle fan in a nutshell.

  • KathyWeppnerNY26

The douchenozzle demo of WBEN is going to help make these guys rich $5 at a time

  • jimd54

Do I feel safer? Compared to planes flying into buildings, yes. Do I feel freer? Yes, of course. Am I more prosperous? Yes. Can’t wait for that numbnuts to canvas my neighborhood.

  • UncleBluck

Let them say what they want. When Dubya and Cheney cant even travel to half the countries in the world for fear of being arrested and charged with crimes against humanity, I think says it all….By the way the president is supreme commander of all military forces and if he wants to salute with a cup of coffee in his hand he can do so…something that I experienced from many officers when I served in the military years ago……

    • Chris S

Dubya and cheny, just as bad. Setting the precedent our current Resident follows. Next election try and choose outside the standard “better of two evils”

  • Mike_Chmiel

Can we forward this comment chain to the Secret Service? At least a few of those comments seem to stepping in the direction of threats against the president.

Then again, most of these clowns are internet warriors at best. Awesome at shooting paper targets or harmless deer, but would freeze up instantly if they ever had a chance to live out one of their gun fantasies.

    • UncleBluck

What I find interesting is the way that most of these numbnuts associate their gun nuttery with being a “patriot”. My guess if fewer than 10% ever served in the armed forces…

      • Chris S

Hey Unclebluck, I got banned at wivb for pointing our our allies in the new war are all supporting isis and against asad, oh well.

Serving in todays armed forces, while extremely admirable has become nothing short of working for globalists. If you think they (Muslims) hate us for our freedom, I have a bridge to sell you. Conquest is not patriotic, “us” gun nuts only want to be able to protect our property, family and liberty….its called patriotism. Belief that liberty is the foundation, not the fringe. 99.9% of the returning vets are gun nuts…ahem, I mean patriots. They have fought and return to see that if they want to fight for freedom, America has become the place its being stripped away. “If you give up your liberty in exchange for security, you will have nor deserve either” B. Franklin

      • Gary Zajdel

Patriots my balls….the majority of those who call themselves “patriots” (ie: Tparty)….are nothing more than lemmings….low-info voters who haven’t the brains to take “a look see” themselves rather than be guided nby the idiots at WBEN…the Limpballs, Hannity’s and so on….To make matter worse, they call “independent” research visiting neocon, religious fanatic websites. If you’re truly worried about protecting your life and property.,..I suggest starting at those you attend church with….

      • Chris S

Do you realize how hateful you sound yourself? The thing about liberty is I do not need to consult with anyone. My rights are not subjected to the democratic hivemind. I think the righties are just as obnoxious as the lefties. Complete and utter divide and conquer. You characterize people as “nuts” and then expect to be taken as an intellectual? I have plenty of tools on standby if the need arises. I do not need a hammer unless I need a hammer, but when I need it I have it. pretty simple strategy. You think guns are bad, good for you. When you need help, you will call a man with a gun. Pretty moronic view of reality. Politics will never trump my rights, and no gov’t will turn my rights into a privilege. As for the tea party being the majority who call themselves patriots…let me ask, do you consider yourself a patriot? If so, are you in the tea party, or have you just realized the BS in your false argument

    • Chris S

open dissent is the hallmark of a free society, while it may be distasteful, it is as American as apple pie.

      • Mike_Chmiel

Please go ahead and email the White House with your plans about storming it with a few “busloads of patriots”. Make sure you let them know that you have no problem with some good guys dying, because, “so will some bad guys”. If and when you get out of Leavenworth, let me know how it all worked out.

      • Chris S

do you see how far into the abstract land of unicorn farts you venture to attempt to make a point

      • Mike_Chmiel

        Quoting the patriots above, chief.

      • Chris S

perhaps you should have quoted the person you are conversing with chief

      • Mike_Chmiel

Don’t disagree with your statement about dissent. Only stating that many of the comments above (none of which are yours) go beyond dissent and into outright threats, which have never been legal.

      • Chris S

I see disillusioned conjecture on SOCIAL MEDIA. These righties, just like the lefties are so caught up in a paradigm of choosing the “better of two evils” that they go way down the rabbithole. Can you name one president in recent memory who did not commit high crimes and misdemeanors? So people talk, and thats not illegal. Typing words is called “armchair warriors”…and its embarrassing to read but its def not illegal to vent with exclamation points

      • Chris S

“open dissent is the hallmark of a free society, while it may be distasteful, it is as American as apple pie.”

  • John Wilcox

The fact that this mentality is not only allowed to fester at WBEN, but is fostered by them, only demonstrates what a scumbag the program manager really is.

  • Chris S

    Worse than latte salute:

bombing 7 countries in 6 years and winning a peace prize

  • Chris S

    They always ignore the optics
