YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

I believe this one will go down (so far) as the oldest car featured here: a 1923 Chevrolet Superior Touring, seen a few weeks back while driving through — and we stand corrected here — Ridgeway on our way to Crystal Beach. The Chevy had been groomed as General Motors’ volume car back in 1919 as competition for Ford’s Model T. By 1929 the bow-tied car had surpassed Henry Ford’s venerable old car in sales, and the rest, as they say, is history.

All us Ridgewanians might take umbrage over you calling that Crystal Beach…Do any of you old timers remember the bowling alley that stood on that concrete pad in the background? It’s Gorham Rd., quite close to where Dominion Rd. terminates at its western end.

My apologies to all Ridgewanians in the audience. I guess I thought I was farther down the road than I actually was. I often don’t know where I am these days, lol.
