YAK Car Pic of the Day

We’re in rarefied air today, with the sighting of this 1967 Pontiac GTO sports coupe in the Niagara Falls Home Depot parking lot (where the early morning sun wouldn’t cooperate for a good pic). Although Pontiac sold a bunch of GTOs for 1967 (65,167 hardtops and 9,517 convertibles), only 7,029 of these pillared coupes left the factory, with a starting price of just $2,871. Don’t you wish you’d bought one and kept it? Thumbing through the brochure I see that the Morrokide (a.k.a. vinyl) interiors were available in the following colors: blue, turquoise, gold, black, parchment, or red. And what again are our choices these days? Black, tan, gray and … um, I think that’s it. B-o-r-i-n-g!!
