YAK Car Pic of the Day

This 1992 Chevy Caprice was in the second year of the car’s total restyling, which received mixed reviews. The main criticism seemed to be the semi-skirted rear wheel openings, which helped earn it the nickname “beached whale.” They were opened up and more rounded for 1993 (except for the station wagons). If something looks a little off in this photo, it may be the fact that the car’s wheel covers are from an early ’80s Caprice/Impala. I’m guessing the owner of this blue sedan didn’t buy it brand new, as there’s a Joe Cecconi’s Chrysler Complex dealer sticker on the trunk lid. Seen yesterday in Wheatfield (and numerous times around town these past few years).
