L’image de voiture du jour de YAK

Having spent the better part of yesterday north of the border, and with Canada Day just around the corner, it seemed like a good time for one of those quirky, Canada-only cars we used to see so many of back in the day. So here’s a 1956 Meteor four-door sedan. This is the base series of the Meteor, which also featured a mid-range Niagara series, and the top-of-the-line Rideau series. The Meteor was a slightly restyled Ford which was sold as a lower-priced alternative to the Mercury at Canadian Mercury dealers. Just to show that turn-about was fair play, the Ford dealers also sold a slightly restyled Mercury as a higher-priced alternative to the Ford, called the Monarch. This is part of a page from the French language Meteor brochure. See the whole book here.
