YAK Car Pic of the Day

CIMG1560 copy

This  convertible was the most expensive model in the new-for-1970 Pontiac LeMans Sport line-up. The LeMans Sport was a step up from the LeMans, and if you wanted a mid-sized Pontiac drop-top it was either this or the pricier GTO. This one has the 350 CID V-8, but you could also buy one with a 250 CID in-line six… but, really? You also had a choice of front bench seat or buckets, depending on your motives. A Rally package added Rally II wheels, sporty steering wheel, special instruments, and firm-ride suspension. Saw this one yesterday in Lewiston, and for the second day in a row, there’s a vanity plate announcing the vintage of the car.
