YAK Car Pic of the Day

I went to see this movie, Having A Wild Weekend, when it came out in 1965. We were at the Palace Theater in Hamburg, and half-way through the movie management stopped it, turned up the house lights, and announced that if the audience didn’t stop stomping their feet along with the music that we’d all be sent home. Hah! The place was really rockin’! For some reason in most of the world the movie title was Catch Us If You Can. I would have called it Glad All Over, but what do I know? This cover from an album featuring music from the movie shows the boys on the beach with a 1964 Jaguar E-Type (also called an XKE). The car was registered to the band, and was used on other record covers and publicity shots over the years. It was sold in 1971 to DC5 lead singer Mike Smith. These days it’s owned by a fellow in Hampshire, England.
