YAK Car Pic of the Day

Hard to look at a 1960 Imperial Le Baron Southampton and not think of Mr. Drysdale on The Beverly Hillbillies (the Chrysler Corp. provided the cars used on the show). And finding one today isn’t easy, as only 999 of them were produced, at a starting price of $6,318. According to CNNMoney that’s about 50,436 of today’s dollars. I’d say that puts it right in line with what’s on today’s market as far as luxury sedans go. This blue one, with what the brochure writers described as having “…the graceful gull-wing flair of bumpers”  was seen last week in Youngstown.
