YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

Do you think they knew when they named this car that it would someday be a collector’s item? I’m talking about the 1964 Rambler Classic 660 which I saw at last summer’s Grand Nashionals car show in Batavia. The Classic (and I guess that any car from 1964 is now a classic) was positioned between the compact American, and the (same size as the Classic) Ambassador. The Ambassador was, however, a bit ritzier. This  two-tone Classic was wearing a For Sale sign, with the following information: all-original; 2nd owner; 287 CID V-8; newly-rebuilt three-speed manual; 49k miles; rare spinner hubcaps (rare in the sense that I believe they’re actually from a 1965 model); $4,500 or offers. Nice. I wonder if it sold? (Below is a ’65 Rambler Marlin with the spinner hubcaps)
