YAK Car Pic of the Day

CIMG1122 copy

From back in the day when men were men, women were women, and trucks were… trucks! (What’d you think I was going to say?!) This 1957 Chevy 3600 Stepside 3/4-ton pickup hearkens back to the days when people bought pickups to actually throw stuff into the back of. And I mean throw! Not too many of these workhorses were treated with kid gloves, because they rarely: made the trips to the upscale restaurant; dropped the kids off at the mall (was there even such a thing in 1957); or… gasp! — had a “Just Married” sign affixed to the back end. (Speaking of back ends, hmm… this one seems to be sporting a tailgate from a GMC.) Odds are this green beauty (which could be yours — it’s for sale) spent its youth on a farm or numerous construction sites, earning every dent, ding, and rust spot in that cargo bed. It can currently be seen in a Wheatfield repair shop’s lot.
