YAK Car Pic of the Day

63 rr - loren-MM

See, this is what happens when Sophia Loren lets Marcello Mastroianni drive her 1963 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupé (convertible to us Yanks) in the 1963 movie Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (which we just finished watching). This is from the second part of the movie’s trilogy, titled Anna. Her husband was out of town for the week, and she and MM were out for a drive to “pass the time” …ahem, when she gave him the wheel. Shouldn’t have started snuggling with him while he was driving. Very distracting!

He was probably disoriented because the Drophead wasn’t right-hand drive. Not to mention being distracted by Sophia, of course. Who wouldn’t?
