YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

1975 Chrysler Cordoba. Try saying it without sounding like Ricardo Montalbán. You can’t, can you! This was the first year for the car which, in the brochure, was being called “the new small Chrysler.” Up to then Chryslers had always been huge land barges, but this one was about a foot shorter than the big Chrysler, with a wheelbase about nine inches fewer. Today though, the Cordoba — c’mon, r-r-r-o-l-l those r’s — would be a large car. At over 215 inches it’s a foot longer than a 2014 Chevy Impala. And not to change the subject, but there’s a radio announcer up in Hamilton who does spots for Fairview Chrysler, who pronounces it “CHRYZ-ler.” Must be a Canadian thing. This red beauty with the white vinyl top was photographed last year in Wheatfield.

Did you take a peek inside Jim? Did it have Corinthian leather?

    • Jim Corbran

I didn’t… but one would hope so!
