From last year’s inaugural Antique & Classic Car Show at the Buffalo History Museum comes this 1964 Ford Thunderbird Landau hardtop. You can tell it’s a Landau, and not just an ordinary hardtop, because it’s “…graced by a padded vinyl roof and glistening “S” bars, with interior inlays of simulated walnut.” Yes, nothing says “…limousine elegance” like simulated walnut (quotes from Ford’s brochure). Did look sharp though. And back in ’64, yeah, this was pretty snazzy. Notice in the photo below, T-Bird’s Swing-Away steering column, here in its swung-away position, which made entry and egress into the driver’s seat much easier.
