YAK Car Pic of the Day

After a five-week cross-country drive in my buddy’s new ’74 Chevy Van, I was prompted the following year to buy my own big square metal box. Well, there was that, and the influence of Sammy Johns. (Look it up here.) So when a completely revamped idea of what a van should be came rolling out of Dearborn in 1975, I knew what I had to buy. This 1983-86 Ford Club Wagon was still much the same design as my ’75 (except of course, for all of those windows). As a matter of fact, it’s still much the same design as today’s E-series Ford vans. They’ve been updated and refreshed over the years, but from a block away they’re still the same. This two-toned window van was seen a couple of days ago in a Wheatfield driveway, still looking pretty good for a 30-year-old Ford van.
