YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

As someone who remembers the day, I can say with authority that Lee Harvey Oswald’s funeral was held on Monday, November 25, 1963. Last night I watched the 2013 movie Parkland, which is largely about events at Parkland hospital in Dallas, where both President John F. Kennedy and his assassin Lee Harvey Oswald were taken after being shot. Apparently the picture’s Car Coordinator, Russell Scott, thinks that Oswald’s funeral was held later — at least a year later — as the hearse which carries his body into the Ft. Worth cemetery is a 1965 Cadillac (above grainy tv screen capture). News video from the actual funeral shows his casket being put into a 1962 Cadillac. If there was no ’62 available for the movie, they could have at least used something historically correct, and not a car that wouldn’t even be built for another year. “Scott,” as they like to say on the internet, “you had one job!”
