In an attempt to share the public’s opinions regarding plans for improvements to the 198—commonly referred to as the Scajaquada Expressway—Assemblyman Sean Ryan’s website is hosting a community petition outlining 13 points for the New York State Department of Transportation to consider. The recommendations would turn the 50mph freeway that currently bisects Fredrick Law Olmsted’s historic Delaware Park into a safer, more livable street and improve the overall experience of visiting the cluster of schools and cultural institutions that also line the route (Buffalo Zoo, Medaille College, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo History Museum, Buffalo State College, Richardson Complex, Forest Lawn Cemetery).
