YAK Car Pic of the Day

KONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

This 1966 Jaguar S was seen last year out in front of a Clarence import service garage. The S was produced from 1963-68, and was sold with either a 3.4- or 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine. It’s funny how our perception of a luxury car has changed over the years. In its 1963 S brochure, Jaguar brags about the car’s “Driver-operated variable interior heating,” and “…self-adjusting handbrake.” Odds are the dash also contained fewer driver distractions than even today’s cheaper compacts do. This blue example is showing its age, but looks to be highly restorable.

I’d wager that machine has spent a good share of its life sitting outside of or in import service garages.
