YAK Car Pic of the Day

49 Delahaye 175 S Saoutchik Roadster

A friend recently sent me a bunch of pics of what he called “interesting old cars.” An understatement if ever there was one. A little research told me they were photos from the 2006 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance event. This 1949 Delahaye 175 S Saoutchik roadster was one of my favorites in the photo batch. Delahaye was a French car builder, which shifted its business to cater to the wealthy back in the 1930s. This particular car sold in 2010 at auction for $3.3 million. Nice!

What a beauty! Why can’t they make that stuff today?

Looks like it would be impossible to see anything in front of you, but if you can afford one I guess you don’t have to.
