As long as we’re on the subject of Mustang concept cars (and we were), this 1963 Ford Allegro goes back to where it all began. This full-sized concept was built based on an earlier clay model. It’s far from what the first Mustang ended up as, but many design features showed up in future Fords, and the idea of a sporty car based on a compact platform spawned a whole new category of automobile — the Pony Car.
