YAK Car Pic of the Day

YAK reader and old pal Ray Ammerman sent me the photo of the blue Snyder ST600-C when he was in Ohio a while back. At the time I didn’t know what it was, but have since looked into this three-wheeled wonder. It’s powered by a two-cylinder 586-cc engine, which drives the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The Snyder web page kind of neglects to mention a price anywhere, but a dealer in Indiana is advertising a brand new one for $6,999.99. The manufacturer claims 70 mpg, and says on their web page (where they also mention a New York-to-Miami drive will only use up 18 gallons of 89-octane gas) that they’re currently sold out. Darn. Actually, I don’t think I’d go any farther in this thing than the end of my driveway — one of their disclaimers mentions that the ST600-C may not be legal in all 50 states. Okay then. — Jim Corbran, You Auto Know

This is your only other color choice; doesn't look much better from this angle, does it?

Well at least you can say it doesn’t look any worse from the back.

There’s a reason why the Reliant Robin (single wheel at front) falls over, and the Morgan 3 Wheeler (single wheel at rear) doesn’t.

Well, being rear-wheel driven, it’s already heaps better than most other cars….:))

The only puzzling thing is how to get an extra snow chain on that front wheel too….:))))
