YAK Car Pic of the Day

Another YAK mystery solved! Here’s a pic from the YAK archive which I’ve never used because I’ve never been able to figure out what it was. Until last night. It’s a 1937 Buick Special — with 1940 Ford headlamps (and just for good measure, 1973 Ford LTD wheel covers). The headlights always threw me off, but last night I took another look, and blew up the photo as large as I could and noticed the “Buick 8” grille emblem. So I checked-out some old Buick files, and realized that the oval on the side of the car behind the grille was a fill-in for where the headlights should be. At that point the Ford headlights jumped right out at me. Ta-da! Took this photo last year in Wilson. Next!
