YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

There was a day when a truck was a truck. In the showroom was usually a guy (and back then he probably was a guy) who was an expert on all of the different configurations needed for the different professions — farmer, plumber, contractor… Contrast that with today’s leather-clad audiophile dens on wheels which rarely get their beds dirty. This 1960 Ford F-100, currently for sale in Lewiston, is from the old school — customized a bit, but hardly posh. Stylish in its own way, wouldn’t you say?

I remember my father relating the story that a car dealer was bemoaning the fact to him back in the late 50s – early 60s that for every few cars ordered, a truck had to be ordered as well. I think this might have been a Ford policy, but Dad’s on the wrong side of the grass to ask.
