Steam Donkeys Offer Solution to Federal Park Closures

While they admit they lack the authority to open any of the Federal Parks during the government shutdown, the Steam Donkeys—a Buffalo, NY-based musical act and global think tank—have come up with a temporary solution.
“Instead of going to Yellowstone,” offers Buck Quigley, the front man and spokesperson for the group, “why not go to Pollywogg Holler this Sunday? The fall foliage is spectacular in this Shangri-La of the Southern Tier, and so are the people.”
Critics claim that Quigley is exploiting the Federal shutdown to promote his own band’s gig.
“Nonsense,” he says. “Just because the Steam Donkeys are playing there from 1-6pm on Sunday (10/13) on the cool, handcrafted, solar powered stage and enjoying the delicious gourmet pizza with friends and friendly strangers in a breathtakingly beautiful natural vista dotted with cool art—that doesn’t mean we’re happy that the government has shut down. We’re just trying to give the American people an option in these trying times.”
“I have complete faith that our political leaders will do the right thing and get the government running again, but in the meantime we all must do our part to make sure we continue to have a good time,” Quigley added.
