YAK Car Pic of the Day

I think the rear three-quarter angle is my favorite view of the 1969 AMC AMX. Some may think of the AMX as a Javelin with a shortened wheelbase and the rear seat removed. And guess what? It is! This orange AMX, seen parked across the street from the Tonawanda post office yesterday, is equipped with the high-performance 390 CID V-8, which put out 315 hp. The Javelin was new for ’68, and the AMX came around half-way through the model year. It was pretty much unchanged for ’69, but was restyled a bit for 1970 — which turned out to be its final year, after only around 20,000 total production for the three model years.
