YAK Car Pic of the Day

From the Labor Day Car Show in Tonawanda’s Niawanda Park, here’s a nice V-8 powered 1965 Plymouth Barracuda. This was the Barracuda’s second year of production, although the ’64s went by the name Plymouth Valiant Barracuda. Looking at both the Valiant and the Barracuda, it’s obvious why the first ‘Cuda was part of the Valiant line, as the only exterior difference was the roofline with its huge rear window. Chrysler probably took the Valiant name off to better compete with the Ford Mustang — you know, get it out of that cheap-sounding compact car category. Here’s a link to the Barracuda brochure.
