YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

It’s one of those “If I Won the Lottery” days (even though I never play anymore). So I was traveling around eBay Motors to see what’s available, when I came across this 1957 Mercury Colony Park station wagon. The ’57 Merc wagons were all pillarless hardtops — even the two-door models. The seller says this car is mint (from the photos, I’m not going to argue) and rare — I looked it up; only 7,386 were produced. And I think I’d only be able to afford this Rosewood-colored beauty if I did win the lottery — the Buy-It-Now price is $59,000. When new, they started at $3,677. Nice appreciation. If you’re interested, the auction goes on until October 3, which just happens to be my birthday (hint, hint!). You can view the auction and all of the photos here.
