YAK Car Pic of the Day

A bit of Buffalo motoring history… the 1948 Playboy, built by the Playboy Motor Car Corp., 988 Ellicott St., Buffalo. Never heard of the Playboy? Not surprising, as only 97 prototypes were built and shipped to prospective dealerships across the country. The car had its official debut at the Hotel Statler on February 18, 1948. Playboy went bankrupt before production ever started, so those 97 cars are it. This beautiful example was seen at the Labor Day car show in Tonawanda’s Niawanda Park — a beautiful backdrop for a car show. Even better, it was within walking distance of YAK headquarters!
