It’s a 1970-72 Chevy Corvette Stingray convertible. And for the first time since doing this, I had to wrack my brain before remembering I’d seen it in Wheatfield. Looking at the brochure for the 1971 models, I see on the back page that air-conditioning wasn’t available if you wanted a four-speed stick. What’s up with that? You mean to tell me that Chevrolet engineers didn’t think anyone would want both? I realize this was 1971, when a/c was still somewhat of an oddity, but… really now. Here’s a link to the brochure. When I was a kid, I always (thought I) wanted one from this generation — a yellow convertible with a black top and interior. Never got it though. There was however, a lovely, crap brown Ford Pinto…
