YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

Yeah, I used to be one of those who complained that Ford turned the nifty tw0-seat ’57 T-bird into the four-seat “square Bird,” but the more I see of examples like this 1960 Thunderbird, the more I appreciate them. So did buyers, as sales rocketed-up when the ’58s were introduced. This black beauty was at the Buffalo History Museum’s inaugural Antique & Classic Car Show a few weeks back.

…and at the bottom of the page is the rest of yesterday’s pic car,

a 1960 Pontiac Catalina.

I agree; I preferred the ’55-’57 Birds over their square successors, which grew on me over time. However, it was criminal what Bunkie Knudsen did in his spawning of bloated Birds of a decade later….

    Man, that black T-bird is…just…wow.
