Saw this 1966 Rambler Classic 770, ironically, on the way to the Nash show in Batavia a few weeks ago. American Motors was in the midst of the number game for its different models: the cheaper Classic was the 550; Ambassadors used 880 & 990; while the Americans were known as either 220 or 440. Too bad the sales numbers for AMC were lower than low. They weren’t bad cars at all, but lacked the flash (due to the lack of AMC cash) that the competition sported. This green 770 was parked just outside the City of Batavia. You can see all of the ’66 Classics here.
