Dear University Community:

I am delighted to announce that the University at Buffalo will have the pleasure of welcoming President Barack Obama on Thursday, August 22, when he will visit Buffalo as part of his tour of upstate New York and Pennsylvania.

The president’s visit to UB will be a historic occasion for our university and our community, and it is a great honor for UB to provide this forum for the president to address issues important to our nation.  Fostering a public space for discussing pressing societal issues is vital to our mission as a leading research university focused on advancing the greater public good.   Hosting such a timely and meaningful conversation here at UB is a tremendous opportunity, and one that is sure to be an unforgettable experience for our university and our community.

Further information regarding the timing, location, and topic of President Obama’s address at UB will be forthcoming from the White House, as well as more details about the availability of tickets for this event.

We will share this information as we learn more.  Please stay tuned to www.buffalo.edu and the UB Reporter for more details about this exciting event over the coming days.

Sincerely,

Satish K. Tripathi
President

Question: Who is going to point out to POTUS that the president of the State University of New York at Buffalo gets paid $81,000 more/year than the President of the United States of America?

    Who cares?

But the POTUS has a nicer house.

BO’s crib is a slum. LeBrun keeps the riffraff away.

Don’t worry–as soon as he retires and hits the lecture circuit, BHO will be able to make it up. UB gave Colin Powell and Tony Blair $150,000 each for a one-hour lecture and pre-screened softball questions. Karl Rove made $60,000. And the distinguished Laura Bush will be in UB’s Distinguished Lecture Series this year.

Anyway, come on out to the lecture–everybody’ll be there! Well not quite everybody. For instance, Afrah Mohammed Nasser (9 years old) won’t be there,l or her sisters Zayda (7) , Hoda (5), and Sheika (4). That’s because President Obama killed them.
