YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

If you were looking for a cheap, full-sized car back in the day, they didn’t get much cheaper than this 1963 Chevrolet Biscayne six-cylinder two-door sedan: $2,322 with the three-on-the-tree, no power anything, and a blank plate where the radio should be. This green one, sitting in a yard in Cambria, is looking for a new home; a little rust here and there, but for a 50-year-old car, I’d say it might make an interesting driver. Here’s a link to the brochure for the whole ’63 Chevy lineup

Looking at the full line brochure, I can remember riding home at 30 m.p.h. on the open tailgate of a Chevy II wagon, 10 years old, 2 other 10 year olds next to me, one kid’s mother driving, thinking it was “all good”. And no, I did NOT fall off and smack my head…despite what my meanderings might lead you to believe.
