YAK Car Pic of the Day

Here’s a nice 1962 Chevy Impala, seen yesterday sitting outside of a Town of Niagara repair shop. Chevy sold 704,900 Impalas for 1962, out of a total of about 1,229,900 full-sized cars. That’s a lotta cars — and when you think about it, probably a lotta trade-ins. I would imagine with this many new cars being sold back in the day, that used car prices were very attractive. My parents bought a used ’61 Chevy station wagon in 1963, and it had to have been a deal or they wouldn’t have bought it! This ’62 V-8 Impala had a starting list price of $2,776 (or $2,669 with the 235.5 CID L6).
