    i just never understood why it wasn’t built facing downtown, so essentially turned around 180 degrees so everyone can see the skyscrapers rather than the highway

      I know they did studies on this during the building of the park and realized that would not be a good idea. Wind direction and evening shadows from the sun off of those downtown buildings are just a couple reasons why that may not have happened.
