YAK Car Pic of the Day

.

.

So Saturday night, exhausted from a day of home remodeling, I plopped myself in front of the television, and noticed that WBBZ was showing Batman, Parts 1 and 2  which originally aired on December 14 and 15, 1966. What caught my eye was the synopsis, which had Catwoman (Julie Newmar) stealing the voices of British singing stars Chad and Jeremy (hey, it was 1966!). After the caper goes down she keeps the voices in a small wooden box (voice box?) which, when opened starts singing. Hah! And then of course, there’s the original Batmobile which, you may not know but it started life in 1955 as the Lincoln Futura concept car. The Batman series wasn’t the car’s first appearance on the screen however. It was in the 1959 movie It Started With A Kiss, painted red and still looking like the Lincoln it was before customizer George Barris turned it into the Batmobile. And you’ll be relieved to hear, that in the end, Chad and Jeremy got their voices back.
